Shelter Reform had received negative reports from rescuers about this shelter in early 2010.

But as of November 23, 2010, Jones County is clearly making a concerted effort toward No Kill, and although they've hit the inevitable rough spot here and there, if they can sustain their initial momentum, they will succeed. An effective moratorium on killing animals while pens are empty has been generally honored while the community scrambles to get all eleven parts of the No Kill Equation in place. We will do what we can to encourage further progress, and we look forward to moving Jones County to the Improving Shelters category, and to Good Shelter status thereafter.
